Zone Two aims to support people to achieve in-depth awareness of self and surroundings and to get to wherever they intend to be.
"Life is meant to be lived". We allow ourselves to be as imperfect as we can be, to be as weird as we can be, to make mistakes as much as we can and yet to choose whoever we want to be.
Zone Two aims to create a safe space to be who we are at this moment.
Humans are hard wired to connect with others. We help each other grow and nurture each other's roots in our shared ground.
With cultural humility and human rights in mind, we appreciate and celebrate diversity in our community. We hope everyone treats each other with respect and kindness regardless of the social economic cultural background.
Being grounded on mindfulness and reflection, I work from strengths-based and person-centred perspectives
with an in-depth understanding of cultural diversity, social adversity and trauma.
I offer mental health services to neurodivergent adult (including the undiagnosed) and children
through a neuro-affirming lens.
I bring broad understanding and openness into my practice and I fully appreciate neurodiversity in every way of our life.
Working in social services has deepened my curiosity, humility and compassion towards fellow human beings who have their own struggles, strengths, interests and
potentials just like myself.
Special interest in:
prolonged and unresolved emotional issues,
developmental and complex trauma,
life-long battle with weight and food,
chronic/ life threatening health issues including chronic pain,
addictions,
how to live, love and die well.
As a skilled, professional counsellor, with a dynamic and empathic approach, I encourage my clients to be at ease as I help create an environment for change to explore present life challenges or difficulties and to develop an awareness.
Through this awareness clients learn to be more authentic, empowered to manage their own thoughts and feelings differently and to consider better ways to move forward.
I believe that understanding yourself could be the most lasting and liberating experience of your life. During childhood and sometimes later in life, things interrupt our development and we become stuck in fixed patterns and beliefs about ourselves, that get in the way of life.
I believe that everyone has the ability and resources to be able to lead a satisfying and creative life and my aim is to guide you through the darkness and onto your chosen path.
My counselling experience has led me to work with adolescents, adults, couples and families and I am a registered member of PACFA.
I use a sound knowledge of evidence-based therapies which include: Emotion Focussed, Acceptance Commitment, Cognitive Behavioural, Solution Focussed, Mindfulness and Strengths based therapies.
Special interest in :
recognising that trauma and emotional challenges often reside within the body.
Through expressive and sensory based therapy we can access and address deep-seated issues.
Negative automatic thoughts can be reprogrammed through a deeper awareness and understanding of our thought processes and through practice, we can become the agent of change in our life
